VISIT US

Explore our forest filled with olive trees

Our olive forest belongs to the town of Castañar de Ibor, which is situated in Extremadura’s Cáceres province. The region is considered a “Special Protection Area” for birds, as designated by the EU, and also forms part of the Geopark Villuercas –Ibores- Jaras, which has been declared a UNESCO Global Geopark given its rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Our organic farm is filled with olive trees; dotted by madrones, oak trees, and century-old cork trees; and blanketed almost year round by grass-covered soil, an uncommon characteristic for most olive orchards. Given the high-altitude location of our orchards — the highest in the region, and the only employing organic architecture — there is zero herbicide contamination.

During your visit, you’ll learn more about all of this, as well as about the latest technologies used for organic farming, and of course have the opportunity to taste some of the best olive oils in the world. Surrounded by nature and discovery, our farm is located just two hours from Madrid, making a visit to this often-unexplored part of Spain a doable journey from the capital. Apart from exploring our farm, for which you’ll find more information below, our Gateway to the Geopark page provides all of the resources and links you might need to plan your visit to our region.

We also give you the opportunity to take a journey through our wonderland of different trees with Foresty Engineer Olga Jiménez at your side. Discover this virgin land that has been kept in a perfect state, and remains one of the last of its kind in Europe.

A visit to our farm will include exploring our forest of trees — such as olives, cork oaks and others — as well as an olive oil tasting and discussion. Topics will cover the olive varieties, the properties of extra virgin olive oil, quality parameters, and extraction methods.

The visit will also include tastings of other traditional regional products, ranging from cheese to oregano, produce from our garden, and of course our very own olives and olive oil. To see more of what our farm and region offer, please visit our photo gallery
